- Celsius scale
- The zero point on Celsius scale is the melting point of water (0 °C = 273.15 K). The size of one degree on Celsius scale (°C) is same as on the Kelvin scale (K). Conversion between Celsius and Kelvin is achieved using the following relationship
T K = T °C + 273.15 - Charles' law
- According to Charles' the volume of a gas is directly proportional to its temperature at constant pressure. But this law is only empirical and exact only for ideal gases.

- Critical temperature
- Critical temperature is the point on the phase diagram of a two-phase system at which the two coexisting phases have identical properties and therefore represent a single phase. It is not possible to liquefy any substance above its critical temperature.
