FISEC Split

The Food Industry Students European Council (FISEC) is an association for students studying a food related course spanning the majority of Europe. FISEC is a non-profit, apolitical and independent association founded on the concepts of mutual respect of nations and equality of people, and avoids all forms of discrimination.

A local committee of F.I.S.E.C. Split was founded within the Student Council branch of the Faculty of Chemical Technology on 8th January, following an initiative of Zlatko Durdov, Ana Tomasovic and Kristina Radovic.

Its main goal is to promote international exchange among participating students. This is achieved by holding two annual conferences, the General Assembly and the Food Convention. These conferences provide an excellent opportunity to meet our European counterparts and to learn more about their industries, usually by visiting food companies and talking to their representatives. At the General Assembly we also organize the necessary official protocol of the association, for example, the electing of a new president. In addition to these official meetings, we stay in contact with each other during the year and try to meet more often, for example, in exchanges between two universities. Further, we try to encourage active communication between the University and Industry, and encourage exchanges of ideas about future professions among students studying food industry.
