About Split
Split is an urban, cultural and traffic centre of Dalmatia with road and sea connections to Dalmatia's numerous summer resorts. It is a city with a 1700-year old tradition, a variety of archaeological, historical and cultural monuments, among which the well-known Palace of Diocletian, inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is also a modern Mediterranean city.
April weather
Weather is usually very nice in April. Evenings are little cold. You can check out average temperature.
Accomodation
You will be accomodated in student dorm. Rooms are for two persons with bathroom and balcony.
Distance from faculty is 10 minutes walk.
Requirements
What to bring:
- copy of passport or ID
- certificate from your university confirming you are a student, or a student card
- completed application form, sent by 1st April, 2007
- pocket money, and money for the fee
- sport clothes
- camera and its cable for the gathering all of our photos
- typical food and drinks from your country
- music from your country
- a musical instrument
Each participant (F.I.S.E.C. local committee and new members) should make a presentation of:
Country or city, or both - maximum duration 5-10 min
University and faculty or department - maximum duration 10-15 min
Product - if you want you can select one product you like and make a presentation on it and its
production process as a lecture.
Some may choose to present their final project.
We will organize a tasting after the presentation if you bring products.
Trade fair
At the trade fair we will present products from our sponsors. Each F.I.S.E.C. group will choose
one member that will represent them in the EVALUATION GROUP.
Each member of the evaluation group will evaluate every food presentation except from its own group.
Grades go from 1-10.

- Originality in presentation
- Representative of country
- Outstanding product
- Product design
- Greatest speech
- Best looking presentation
- The finest drink
Reward is BEST FOOD PRESENTATION
All abstracts should be sent on until 1. april.

Currency
Kuna (1 kuna=100 lipa). Foreign currency can be exchanged in banks, exchange offices, travel agencies, hotels, camps and marinas.

- Water (0.5 lit) - 3,50 - 5,00 kn
- Beer (0.5 lit) - app. 10,00 to 15,00 kn (in a bar)
- Coca-Cola (0.5 lit) - 8,00 to 12,00 kn, or 5,00 kn in a shop
- Pizza - 25,00 to 35,00 kn
- Big Mac menu - 19,90 kn
Communication
All day internet connection will be provided to all participants in the student dorm, where the conference will be held.
For local calls buy telephone cards. Split's area code is 021. When calling abroad from Croatia, you must first dial the International code 00 and then country code and the number. A phone card of 50 kuna is enough for 3 to 4 calls.
